BACOLOD City – Two electrical technicians of Iloilo Electric Cooperative (ILECO) were injured. The electrical pole they were repairing along Sitio Raming, Barangay Pilar, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental on Wednesday afternoon collapsed.
The two men were already out of danger as this was being written.
Authorities requested that their identities be withheld.
According to Fire Officer 1 Lowie Gayorgor of the Hinigaran Municipal Fire Station, the two technicians were working on top of the electrical pole when it suddenly fell down.
Both men were harnessed to the pose at the time.
They were pinned by the electrical pole for at least a few minutes until emergency first responders arrived and extricated them one by one.
The two technicians were part of the electrical repair teams from Panay island sent to southern Negros to help repair electrical lines damaged by super typhoon “Odette”./PN
