
BACOLOD City – Several employees of the city government and Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) cleaned up major streets and public markets here.
The about 140 participating employees of the city government were from the General Services Office (GSO), Department of Public Services (DPS) and the Clean and Green team.
The cleanup was held along Burgos and Hilado streets leading to the Capitol Shopping Center, on Jan. 30.
GSO head Gilda Luisma said the activity was the first of three Sunday cleanups.
On the other hand, the City Legal Office (CLO), led by the Law Enforcement Unit team head Dante Medecielo, together with assigned BCPO personnel, conducted its second simultaneous cleanup in all three major markets on Jan. 29.
The team focused on clearing the markets’ drainage system of garbage and other deposits.
They also cleared the areas surrounding the Bacolod Arts and Youth Sports (BAYS) Center of trash./PN
