ROXAS CITY — The city police office here assured that they will investigate the alleged recurrence of a double-your-money investment scheme here.
Police Lt. Col. Aaron Palomo, chief of police of Roxas City Police Station, said they already received a memorandum from Capiz Governor Esteban Evan Contreras directing them to investigate the alleged illegal operation and put behind bars the illegal operators.
He assured that the police will not tolerate this kind of activity because it brings no good to everyone.
Palomo appealed to the public not to fall victim to this kind of investment scheme.
So far, he noted that no one has stepped forward to complain as a victim since the alleged recurrence of the double-your-money investment scheme.
Last year, many of the residents in the province who invested in the same investment scheme came out and complained after failing to take their money back.
One of the alleged operators, Don Chiyuto, was nowhere to be found as he was allegedly abducted.
Another operator, Junelyn “Madam “ Obamas, was nabbed in an entrapment operation, also last year.
Palomo is hopeful that what had happened will serve as a lesson to others who are planning to gamble their hard-earned money through the illegal investment scheme like double-your-money./PN
