MANILA – Eighteen Western Visayas-based volleyball players are set to suit up in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference which commences today at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Defending champion Chery Tiggo Crossovers will have three Region 6 players in its lineup in libero Beatriz Ria Duremdes (Iloilo City) and opposite hitters Ma Shaya Adorador (Leon, Iloilo) and Roma Joy Doromal (Iloilo City).
PLDT High Speed Hitters also has three Western Visayan volleybelles in middle blocker Dell Juanico Palomata (Aklan), opposite hitter Christine Joy Soyud (La Carlota, Negros Occidental) and outside hitter Fiola Ceballos (Bingawan, Iloilo).
PVL debutant F2 Logistics Cargo Movers will parade middle blocker Abigail Maraño (Passi City, Iloilo) and hitter Jessma Ramos (Bacolod City).
Bali Pure Purest Water Defenders, meanwhile, are led by open hitter Patty Jane Orendain (Bacolod City) and middle blocker Geneveve Casugod (Pontevedra, Negros Occidental).
Outside hitter Aiza Maizo-Pontillas (Passi City, Iloilo) and opposite hitter Jonah Sabete (Escalante City, Negros Occidental), meanwhile, will now campaign with Petro Gazz Angels.
Choco Mucho Flying Titans, for its part, also has three Region 6 players in its roster in Ilongga middle blockers Shannen Palec and Aduke Ogunsanya.
Cignal HD Spikers has inked up former Central Philippine University Golden Lions standout Glaudine Trongcoso of Iloilo City while also retaining Bacolodnon setter Maria Arielle Estrañero.
Black Mamba-Army Lady Troopers, on the other hand, has one WV-based player in Ilongga outside hitter Jeannie Delos Reyes, while Creamline Cool Smashers has Bacolodnon outside hitter Fille Cainglet-Cayetano.
PVL action resumes today with the Cargo Movers making their debut against Lady Troopers at 3 p.m. while Crossovers kicking off its title defense against HD Spikers at 6 p.m./PN
