IATF tweaks Region 6 alert levels

MANILA – The provinces of Iloilo, Negros Occidental and Antique will remain under Alert Level 2 until April 15, according to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID).

However, some of their towns and cities have been placed under Alert Level 1, according to Presidential Spokesperson Martin Andanar yesterday, due to their improving coronavirus disease 2019 situation.

The cities of Iloilo and Bacolod and the provinces of Aklan, Capiz and Guimaras also get to keep their Alert Level 1 status, he added.

Citing the IATF-MEID’s decision, Andanar said Antique province may be under Alert Level 2 but its capital town of San Jose de Buenavista and the municipality of Sebaste are under Alert Level 1.

Antique has 18 towns.

Under Alert Level 1, which is described by the Department of Health as the new normal, intrazonal and interzonal travel are allowed regardless of age and comorbidities.

All establishments, persons or activities are permitted to operate, work, or be done at full onsite capacity, provided that health standards are observed.

In person or “face-to-face” classes for basic education will be subject to the approval of the Office of the President.

In Iloilo province which is made up of 42 municipalities and one component city, the following towns are now under Alert Level 1: Anilao, Balasan, Banate, Barotac Nuevo, Barotac Viejo, Bingawan, Concepcion, Dueñas, Guimbal, Janiuay, Lemery, Mina, Pototan, San Dioniso, and Santa Barbara.

In Negros Occidental which has 19 municipalities and 12 component cities, the following are under Alert Level 1 also: the towns of EB Magalona (Saravia), Pulupandan and San Enrique and the component cities of La Carlota and Sagay.

Due to being under Alert Level 2 still, intrazonal and interzonal movement in Iloilo province, Antique and Negros Occidental are allowed but subject to reasonable restrictions that the local government units may impose.

Select establishments or activities are permitted to operate at a maximum of 50 percent indoor capacity for fully vaccinated individuals and 70 percent outdoor capacity./PN
