BACOLOD City- This city is now implementing the 25 percent surcharge to those processing the renewal of their business permit after the Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) ended on March 31.
Earlier, the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod(SP) here had extended the BOSS deadline for filing business permits and licenses for this year from Jan. 21 until March 31, following the supposed deadline of filing on Jan.20.
With the passage of the resolution authored by Councilor Al Victor Espino, chairperson of the committee on ways and means, the business registrants will pay their business taxes, fees, and charges without penalties and surcharge, with a 10 percent discount on one-time payments.
Leonardia said the mandatory extension of deadlines for the payment of taxes, fees, and charges imposed and collected by the local government unit and providing guidelines is according to Republic Act No. 11494 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One-Act.
Stela Rose Rayos, head of the BPLO following the deadline of the processing, clarified that they will start imposing a 25 percent surcharge for the renewal, but for the new registrants, there is none.
Another two percent will be implemented, still, for the renewal processing in case they will fail to pay until the end of this month, she said.
The BOSS processing was exclusively held on the 4th floor of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
Rayos said the processing of the renewal and new registrant businesses is now held at the Bacolod City Government Center.
She added the Mayor’s Permit can be released for about 20 minutes only depending on how fast they can comply with their clearances./PN
