MANILA – All-Star Bacolod Ballers Bingo Plus cruised to its second straight win in the Filbasket 2022 Summer Championship after a 91-64 beating of AMA Online Education Titans on Monday at the Muntinlupa Sports Center in Muntinlupa City.
Negrense Mark Yee spearheaded the Bacolodnons with double-double 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Jerome Garcia was hailed as the Player of the Game with his 12 markers and six boards.
Carl Marrion Soriano and Richard Albo also hit double-figures on offense with 11 and 10 markers, respectively, as the Bacolodnons improved to 3-2 win-loss slate.
Bacolod’s stingy defense produced 10 blocked shots and held the Titans to just 29% from the field as Alex Angeles’ team controlled the game from start to finish.
The Bacolodnons set the tone early with early conversions from Albo, Alwyn Alday and Edrian Lao as they build a 23-13 advantage after a three-pointer by Joel Lee Yu.
The Titans were hanging around at a nine-point deficit in the second period but outside conversions from Mark dela Cruz and Soriano and inside shots by Keith Tulipas made it a 46-31 score for Bacolod.
AMA opened the second half with back-to-back baskets but Bacolod responded with triples from Garcia and consecutive baskets from Yee as the lead swelled to 27 points.
Bacolod went on with its rampage in the fourth quarter as the lead reached its largest at 86-47 following an inside hit by Soriano. Yee and Tulipas put on the finishing touches with dunk conversions.
Luke Parcero finished the match with 21 points while Irvin Mendoza had double-double 13 points and 15 rebounds as the Titans suffered its fifth straight loss to drop to 1-5.
The All-Star Bacolod Ballers Bingo Plus looks to continue its winning run as it battles Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia at seven in the evening on Friday at the same venue.
