ILOILO – Sen. Sonny Angara will administer the oath of office of elected provincial officials here on June 28.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. told Panay News the oath-taking will be held at the provincial capitol lobby.
Aside from Defensor, Vice Gov. Christine Garin and Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members will also take oath before Angara.
Here are the proclaimed SP winners:
* 1st District – Valentine Serag and Carmelo Nochete
* 2nd District – June Mondejar and Rolito Cajilig
* 3rd District — Matt Palabrica and Jason Gonzales
* 4th District – Domingo Oso Jr. and Rolly Distura
* 5th District – Binky Tupas and Carol V. Espinosa-Diaz
Defensor said Angara is a friend and, as senator, has helped the provincial government in many ways.
Angara has been in public service for 15 years — nine years as Representative of the Lone District of Aurora, and six as senator.
He has authored and sponsored more than 250 laws. He is currently serving his second term in the Senate./PN
