
ANTIQUE – The local government unit (LGU) of Patnongon is the sole municipality from this province to be recognized as the “best performing LGU” for the 2022 Project RISE (Redefining Impact through Structural Empowerment).
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 6 director Juan Jovian Ingeniero conferred the plaque of recognition to Mayor Johnnyflores S. Bacongallo during the Pagdayaw 2022 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City on Monday, Dec. 5.
The mayor was accompanied by municipal local government officer (MLGOO) Janeth Norella, municipal engineer Robert Talidong and their SubayBAYAN Encoder and Draftsman, Remigio Labana.
Bacongallo said the Patnongon LGU implemented DILG-administered projects covering the period of fiscal year 2016 to 2020 during the term of former mayor Evohn Nee B. Baldestamon.
“We are deeply grateful to our former mayor, Evohn Nee B. Baldestamon, and our MLGO Janeth Norella for paving the path of wins for our LGU. We are the only municipality in our province that was given this outstanding award,” said Bacongallo.
He also expressed gratitude to the DILG-6 and stated that the award will serve as a motivation for the LGU to continue providing excellent service to Patnonganons.
Project RISE is an initiative of DILG-6 that aims to identify LGUs that have delivered exemplary performance on the implementation of DILG administered projects.
Other localities in Western Visayas also recognized as best performing LGUs for the Project RISE were the following :
* Altavas, Buruanga, Ibajay, Kalibo, Libacao, and Malinao in Aklan province;
* Pavia and Tubungan in Iloilo province; and
* Ilog, Negros Occidental./PN
