ILOILO City – A resident of Cuartero, Capiz, was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation around 11:47 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, in the town’s Barangay Angub.
Suspect Van Jason Palonpon, 31, of Barangay Angub, yielded several sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less five grams and valued at P34,000.
The operation against Palonpon stemmed from a citizen’s report through “Isumbong Mo Sa PDEA” Hotline.
“Isumbong Mo Sa PDEA” hotline is a 24/7 call and text platform created to allow the public to report illegal drug activities in their neighborhood.
After surveillance and validation, a drug bust operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Capiz Provincial Office and PDEA Aklan Provincial Office, together with the Cuartero Municipal Police Station and the Capiz Police Provincial Office.
Palonpon is facing charges for violations of sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
