BACOLOD City – A 29-year-old man sleeping underneath a 10-wheeler truck was accidentally crushed by the vehicle in Sitio Ambacan, Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.
Winston Ballo Samillano was a resident of the said village, while the 32-year-old truck driver was Roberto Bernardo Tagabuhin, Jr.
The Hinigaran municipal police said Samillano’s head was crushed, killing him on the spot.
Police also noted that Samillano may be suffering from a mental illness; before the accident, he was detained after allegedly hitting a teacher.
As of this writing, the police are waiting for the decision of the victim’s family on whether they would press charges or negotiate a settlement./PN
