BACOLOD City – Ferry trips going to and from this city and other parts of Negros Occidental were suspended yesterday afternoon due to inclement weather.
Coast Guard District Western Visayas spokesperson, Lieutenant Commander Jansen Benjamin, said the following sea crafts cancelled trips:
* M/V Ocean Jet 5 of OceanJet Fast Ferries Corporation (Bacolod-Iloilo and vice versa)
* M/V City of Masbate of Montenegro Shipping Lines (Bacolod-Iloilo and vice versa)
* M/V Balt Bep Journeys (Cadiz City, Negros Occidental-Bantayan Island, Cebu and vice versa)
* NaviMar Shipping (Pulupandan, Negros Occidental-Sibunag, Guimaras and vice versa)
* E.B. Aznar Shipping Corporation (San Carlos City, Negros Occidental-Toledo City, Cebu and vice versa)
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a low pressure area (LPA) was last located at 1,050 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao and is moving west-northwest towards the eastern portion of the Visayas.
However, the state weather bureau forecasted the LPA as having a low likelihood of developing into a tropical depression./PN
