ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) warned the public against a suspected ATM swindler, dubbed as “ATM Queen”.
The 40-year-old Lunalyn De Pedro of Barangay Gustilo, La Paz district, was allegedly able to steal P130,000 from an elderly in Molo district on Feb. 25.
De Pedro is still at large, said Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, spokesperson of the ICPO.
“At large ang status niya sa karon kag may information kita nga kung madula gali ‘ni siya, may possibility nga nagapangamulya siya sa iban nga lugar kag didto naman mangbiktima. Daw natun-an niya siguro kung paano nga makakwa siya sa target niya,” Sangrines said.
Investigation showed that De Pedro volunteered herself to assist the 62-year-old woman in transacting in an automated teller machine (ATM) in GT Mall, Molo.
Sangrines added the suspect has 13 cases of theft, malicious mischief, swindling and violation of the Access Device Regulation Act of 1998 (Credit Card Violation Act) in Iloilo City; Sara town, Iloilo province; Bacolod City; and Lipa City in Batangas province.
“May mga dugay na siya nga nabiktima but because of remedy bala sang law, makapiyansa siya or may nagapiyansa siguro sa iya. Ang latest was ginserbehan siya sang La Paz police sang warrant of arrest pero naka-post man siya bail until amo naman ni ang victim niya sa Molo,” said Sangrines.
The ICPO spokesperson added they are still validating if the suspect is a member of an organized group./PN
