BACOLOD City – The Holy Week was generally peaceful, according to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO).
This is despite the clash that took place in Toboso town as well as several road accidents in some parts of Negros Occidental.
NOCPPO spokesperson Captain Judesses Catalogo said they have not recorded any serious incidents from Holy Monday up until Easter Sunday.
A total of 2,600 police officers, or 95 percent of NOCPPO’s total police personnel, were deployed during the period.
Police presence, especially at checkpoints along the province’s major roads, ensured peace and security, said Catalogo./PN
