BACOLOD City – Five tricycle drivers were arrested. They were caught betting on a live stream of an online sabong (cockfighting) in Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
They were Jonathan Panes, 36; Sherwin Sumayang, 46; Jose Ricky Alapan, 56; Romualdo Lerio Jr., 34; and Mark James Aguilar, 31, all residents of Bago City.
The suspects were caught by the Bago City police at the public market around 2:08 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7.
Recovered were P450 bet money and a cellular phone.
The suspects were detained at the Bago City police station. Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling, would be filed against them./PN
