Vendors have until today to vacate Libertad Market sidewalks

BACOLOD City – Eight vendors occupying the sidewalks in Libertad Market’s south wing area in this city were given until today, Sept. 5, to vacate and clear the area.

The local market committee (LMC) served the final notice to vacate dated Sept. 2.

Legal officer Romeo Carlos Ting Jr. said these eight vendors were awardees of stalls inside the Annex building of the Libertad Market.

He added that the city will have to clear the area for the night market.

Earlier, the LMC conducted a raffle draw for about 300 displaced vendors of Libertad Market to avail of the limited stalls in the Annex Building.

The other remaining vendors will be accommodated in a night market on Amelia and Mercedes streets, to operate from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily.

Strict regulations will be implemented outside the designated areas of the night market to avoid traffic congestion./PN
