ILOILO – A man arrested by the police in Barangay Buga, Leon for causing public alarm yielded suspected shabu and a gun with ammunition during a body search.
Suspect “Paul,” a 20-year-old farmer, was reportedly armed with a wooden paddle when the Leon Police Station received a report at about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
Lieutenant John Predic Padilla, officer-in-charge of Leon police, said their standard operating procedure after arresting Paul requires the conduct of a body search warrant.
It was then that the police recovered a break-type pistol, nine 5.56 mm live rounds, more or less 40 grams of suspected shabu worth P280,000, and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect is currently detained at the Leon Police Station, facing appropriate charges./PN
