BACOLOD City – The city government here expects the accreditation of more towing companies.
Three towing service companies recently sought the requirements for accreditation, disclosed Councilor Al Victor Espino, chair of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) committee on laws, ordinances, and good government.
Espino said they are proposing to extend their services as City Ordinance 1035, which identifies tow-away zones on various streets, has no exclusivity in accrediting towing companies.
He said these three companies have yet to propose their terms for revenue sharing.
Meanwhile, the SP approved on Wednesday, Feb. 7, the accreditation of Metro Towing Services (MTS) after their accreditation lapsed on Dec. 31, 2023.
Based on its contract, MTS will get a 75 percent income share from towing services, while 25 percent goes to the city government.
He explained that the city government generates income from it; thus, it is better to have multiple towing companies./PN
