CAPIZ – A report by the Capiz Provincial Police Office (CPPO) showed that 440 out of 473 barangays in the province are now “drug-cleared”.
These barangays were identified through the Philippine National Police’s Barangay Drug Clearing Operation Program.
In 2023, CPPO carried out 95 operations and confiscated 1,861.1293 grams of shabu valued at P12,695,581.63.
These also resulted in a total of 121 arrests and 240 charges filed.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency provincial officer Maria Melinda Panaguiton confirmed that the towns of Dao and Jamindan are now drug-cleared.
Colonel Jerome Afuyug Jr. stated that CPPO will focus more on its anti-illegal drug campaign and all forms of illegal activities this year, 2024. (PIA)/PN
