ILOILO City – Emphasizing the importance of gender equality and recognizing the invaluable contributions of women in various sectors, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) enthusiastically commenced its celebration for the 2024 Women’s Month.
The kickoff took place during Monday’s flag-raising ceremony at Camp Martin Teofilo B. Delgado in Fort San Pedro here.
In line with the nationwide observance, PRO-6 embraced the theme “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!” (Equal Society in the New Philippines: Women’s Capabilities, Proven!).
Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez, regional director of the Department of Tourism 6, graced the occasion.
In her address, Rodriguez urged women to serve as inspirations for one another, promoting leadership and empowerment. She emphasized the importance of celebrating each other’s successes and advocated for women’s voices to be heard and valued equally.
The ceremony then honored policewomen from various units within PRO-6 for their exemplary performance.
Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, PRO-6 acting director, expressed his appreciation for the significant contributions of women within the Philippine National Police.
He emphasized the importance of fostering a supportive and empowering environment for women within the organization, calling on everyone, especially men, to promote gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity./PN
