ILOILO City – A student of University of San Agustin – College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education in this city has brought pride to the Philippines!
Maycie Muyco was conferred with the Verbal Commendation Award for her exemplary work as the Delegate of Switzerland at the UN General Assembly – Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL).
Muyco received the prestigious award at the closing ceremony of the 32nd Harvard World Model United Nations held in Taipei, Taiwan from March 10 to 14, 2024.
Muyco is a third-year Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service student at the aforementioned university.
According to their website, the Harvard World Model United Nations (WorldMUN) is dubbed as the “Olympics of MUN” and the “world’s most internationally diverse college-level Model UN conference,” also being the largest outside the United States and Canada. Each year, over 2,000 university students from 110 countries participate in WorldMUN.
It is noteworthy that the team of students from the University of San Agustin also emerged as champions in the 2024 Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition held in Hong Kong from March 6 to March 9.
