ILOILO – A stabbing incident shook Barangay Pughanan in Lambunao, Iloilo on Saturday, March 23.
The Lambunao Municipal Police was alerted to a stabbing incident at approximately 11:45 p.m. at a village disco.
Victim Richard Cequito, a resident of Barangay Misi, Lambunao, found himself embroiled in the altercation with suspect Dee Marjun Ajeno, of Barangay Pughanan.
The confrontation unfolded when the suspect allegedly reprimanded the victim for tripping a village resident. But Cequito retaliated by delivering a punch to Ajeno’s face, inciting the latter’s violent response, and plunging a knife into the victim’s abdomen.
The victim was rushed to Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Lambunao police apprehended the suspect and secured the weapon used in the assault./PN
