BACOLOD City – Former No. 1 village councilor Mario Flores of Barangay 31 in this city has assumed office as the new village chief.
Flores took his oath of office before Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez at the Bacolod City Government Center on Wednesday, April 3.
He succeeded former village chief German Bullolaza who died last month due to a health condition.
In an interview, Flores said he will continue the programs and projects initiated by Bullolaza.
He also asked for cooperation from his constituents for the betterment of Barangay 31.
Meanwhile, as to the vacant seat in the barangay council, Atty. Caesar Distrito, spokesperson for Benitez, said it is up to the city mayor if he would appoint as No. 7 councilor the one recommended by Brgy. 31 council or appoint his own choice./PN
