ILOILO City – The Social Security System (SSS) is intensifying its efforts to decrease contribution delinquency rates through the latest installment of its Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign on Friday, April 19, here.
The event marked the fifth RACE activity launched by SSS Iloilo – Central and SSS Iloilo – Molo branches.
The RACE initiative, part of a nationwide campaign, targets private business establishments, urging them to comply with their contribution obligations.
Atty. Bernardo B. Dofitas Jr., vice president of the SSS Visayas West 2 Division, emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating that businesses are afforded a 15-day grace period after receiving a notice of violation to settle their dues.
“We engage directly with employers, issue them notices of violations, and remind them of their responsibilities towards contributing to the SSS,” said Dofitas.
Employers must present receipts and other relevant documents within 15 days at the SSS office to avoid penalties.
The early campaign has proven its efficacy, with a reported 40% reduction in delinquency rates attributed to these proactive measures.
On April 19, six more businesses were issued notices, initiating the 15-day compliance window.
SSS plans to continue the RACE operations across other regions, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring compliance and enhancing the welfare of its members./PN
