FORMER child actor Niño Muhlach sold his Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) trophy to social media creator Boss Toyo for P500,000.

Known as “Child Wonder of the Philippines,” Muhlach visited Pinoy Pawnstars to sell his Best Child Performer trophy that he received from FAMAS almost five decades ago.

Ako kasi ang dami kong FAMAS (awards). Ang problema hindi ko naalalagaan. Ngayon kung ilalagay mo sa museum mo at promise mo na ipapa-restore mo, I will give you one,” Muhlach said before showing the trophy he received in 1977 as best child performer.

Boss Toyo first tried to buy the trophy for P100,000. He later agreed to buy it for P500,000.

Boss Toyo said he reached out to Muhlach to buy have one of his FAMAS trophies to put in a museum that he is planning to launch this year.

“I  tried to contact Sir Niño. Sabi ko ‘Sir, baka mabili ko ‘yung isa niyang FAMAS, could you bring one?’ Hindi talaga siya pumunta dito para ibenta ito at ako ‘yung nag-request. Kasi sabi ko nga kung mayroon akong gustong makuhang FAMAS (best) child actor is kay idol Niño,” Boss Toyo said.

Siya (Boss Toyo) ang tumawag sa akin at nag-inquire nga tungkol sa trophy, gusto niya raw magkaroon ng FAMAS. Since lima naman ang FAMAS awards ko I decided to give it to him pero may deal. Kailangan alagaan niya at i-restore na parang bago at ilagay sa museum niya,” said Muhlach after the deal was made.

Currently, Muhlach is part of hit series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” as Baste, manager of a sports bar and boss of Bubbles (Ivana Alawi) and lead character Tanggol (Coco Martin). (ABS-CBN News)
