ACTOR Xian Lim said he is still friends with ex-girlfriend Kim Chiu, after they confirmed the end of their 12-year relationship last December 2023.
“Of course,” Lim said when asked if he remains friends with his ex-girlfriend during an appearance in “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, June 12.
However, Lim also bared that he has not had the chance to talk with Chiu again after their separation, as a show of respect for each other.
“Kasi Tito Boy, to be completely honest ever since we went our separate ways, hindi pa po kami nakakapag-usap. But we of course, when that night happened, maayos ‘yung pag-uusap namin. Of course, mayroong iyakan but there was that assurance na we went through 12 years of our existence, it has that respect,” he said.
The actor is also aware of the controversies he needed to face after he and Chiu parted ways.
Without going into the details, Lim revealed that he was not the one who ended their relationship.
“To be completely honest I wasn’t the one engaged in the separation, ‘yun lang po siya, it’s that simple,” he said. “I know they’re saying na….”
Asked if he did not initiate the break-up, Lim said: “Yeah, I wasn’t the one who initiated the breakup.”
The actor also reacted to the mixed emotions of their supporters, who have backed him and Chiu for more than a decade.
“I understand why the supporters are angry, I understand why they feel betrayed. Pero masakit rin ‘yun para sa amin,” he said. “They’re watching us from a distance. Eto kaming dalawa, you know, we have our talks.”
According to Lim, he is also saddened by all the allegations and fake reports that come along after they parted ways.
Just last Friday, June 7, Chiu had broken her silence amid Lim’s repeated statements about their relationship.
The Kapamilya actress said: “It ended, the journey was beautiful. Ayaw ko nang maging masama ‘yung loob ko. Kasi paulit-ulit na lang. Let’s give it a rest and let’s leave respect to each other.” (ABS-CBN News)
