ILOILO – A 47-year-old motorcycle driver died after he was ran over by a dump truck in Barangay Tabucan, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo on Friday afternoon, October 4.
The victim identified as alias “Benjie”, who sustained severe body injuries, was declared dead on arrival at the town’s Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center.
Captain Cedric Cruz, chief of the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station (MPS), said the victim lost control of his motorcycle, causing it to skid and fall onto the road.
A dump truck driven by alias “Noli”, which was traversing the same direction, was unable to avoid the motorcyclist.
The truck driver was arrested and detained at the Barotac Nuevo MPS but was later released after the owner of the truck reached a settlement with the victim’s family./PN
