ILOILO City – “Tuloy pa rin” as a community song echoed in the whole Iloilo Sports Complex as Uswag Ilonggo Party-list’s Cong. Jojo Ang, along with regional chairman, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., addressed the 6,800 beneficiaries during the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers (TUPAD) payout on Friday, October 4, amidst the various political developments for the 2025 elections.
The event saw thousands of beneficiaries claimed their P4,800 salaries after the 10-day work period.
The DOLE TUPAD program beneficiaries were praised by Cong. Ang for their hard work.
“Salamat gid sa inyo pagtinguha. Ari ako kag ang Uswag Ilonggo, padayon nga nagaserbisyo sa inyo,” said Cong. Ang.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the Ilonggo community, saying, “May election man ukon wala, sinsero kita sa paghatag sang kampyon nga serbisyo sa inyo.”
Cong. Ang also gave a meaningful message, alluding to the ongoing unity talks for the city’s benefit, “Kung gahigugma-anay kita, padayon ang kauswagan.”
He further emphasized that the DOLE TUPAD program is not limited to Iloilo City but also benefits other provinces and districts, which was also affirmed by Gov. Defensor.
“Madamo na sang nabuligan sang aton party-list, sa siyudad man ukon sa probinsya. Gani indi pwede mag-separar ang siyudad kag ang probinsya kay isa lang kita,” he added.
