MANILA – Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio is willing to face all three impeachment complaints filed against her before the House of Representatives.
In an interview in Davao City, Duterte-Carpio expressed confidence that the impeachment raps against her will go nowhere, insisting that she did not violate any laws.
Duterte-Carpio added that her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, is willing to stand as one of her lawyers while there are also lawyers on standby to defend her when the complaints progress into an impeachment trial.
“Well, I am confident that I did not break any law. I did not do anything illegal…Kapag nandiyan na ang kaso, haharapin pa rin namin,” Duterte-Carpio stated.
Duterte is currently facing three impeachment complaints over the alleged misuse of P612 million confidential funds by the Office of the Vice President.
The Vice President earlier welcomed the complaints as she stated it was better as she was the only one being attacked.
“So, okay din ‘yung impeachment case dahil ako lang ang tinitira doon, ako lang iniimbestigahan. Ako lang ang inaatake ng impeachment case. Hindi na kasali ang mga kasamahan ko sa OVP and mga dati kong kasama sa DepEd. Masagot na ng final kung ano ‘yung mga inaakusa nila sa akin,” she said./PN
