Man hurt in Pandan stabbing

ANTIQUE – A 24-year-old student was recuperating at a hospital after being stabbed with a broken bottle during a fiesta celebration in Barangay Zaldivar, Pandan, Antique.

Police said alias “Larion,” a resident of the town’s Barangay Nauring, was with his girlfriend attending the fiesta when the stabbing incident occurred around 2:33 a.m. on January 4.

Prior to the incident, Pandan police said an altercation ensued when Larion encountered his friend Piolo, who had been elbowed by one of the three suspects identified as alias “Mark,” 34. Larion reportedly retaliated, escalating the situation.

Two other suspects, aliases “Elmar,” 19, a Grade 12 student, and “Serge,” 22, joined the fray after witnessing their companion being struck. The trio then allegedly attacked Larion and his friend, with the victim sustaining multiple stab wounds to his right leg, both hands, chest, and left shoulder.

Barangay tanods on duty managed to intervene and quell the altercation. The victim was rushed to the Justice Calixto Memorial Hospital for medical treatment and later transferred to a hospital in Kalibo, Aklan for further care.

Following a swift follow-up operation, authorities apprehended the three suspects, who are now in the custody of the Pandan Municipal Police Station./PN
