MANILA – Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio is seriously considering to run in the 2028 national and local elections but did not mention for which position.
Duterte-Carpio made the statement during her meeting with a group of overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in Ginza, Japan on Sunday evening.
“Seriously considering, Ma’am,” Duterte-Carpio answered an OFW who asked her about her political plans for 2028.
Duterte-Carpio previously said she does not plan to join the presidential race in 2028 after being advised by her father to retire from politics after her vice presidency.
Duterte-Carpio also said that she was surprised that the attacks against her came early and she was also stunned that the ones who are doing the attack were her former allies.
Various groups have filed three impeachment complaints against the Vice President at the House of Representatives following allegations related to her office’s confidential funds misuse./PN
