ROXAS City – Joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6’s Interdiction Unit and PDEA-Capiz conducted a greyhound operation and mandatory drug testing at the male dormitory of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Barangay San Jose here.

The operation was carried out on January 24 in collaboration with BJMP-Roxas City personnel headed by jail warden, Jail Supt. Julius Cesar V. Chavez, and with the assistance of PDEA narcotic detection dog “Angel.”

Authorities said the operation aimed to prevent the possible concealment of illegal drugs and contraband within the jail facility. It was also part of the BJMP-Roxas City’s sustainability efforts to retain its drug-cleared jail facility status.

No contrabands were discovered.

Moreover, all persons deprived of liberty at the said jail who were subjected to drug tests yielded negative results./PN
