Kabankalan’s No. 3 fugitive nabbed in Iloilo City

ILOILO City – A high-profile fugitive from Negros Occidental was apprehended in a

coordinated police operation in Barangay Ungka, Jaro district here.

Tagged as the third most wanted person of the Kabankalan Component City Police Station, the 41-year-old alias “Kalongo”, a resident of Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City, was collared at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 17, through the strength of an arrest warrant for murder dated December 7, 2022.

The successful operation was carried out by joint operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Police Station 3 (ICPO-PS3), Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, Kabankalan Component City Police Station, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6 of Police Regional Office 6.

The suspect is now under the custody of ICPO-PS3 pending turnover to the court concerned.

No bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, said the fugitive’s arrest was the result of the collective and aggressive effort of the different police units in Western Visayas, the vital information provided by the community and the support extended by other law enforcement agencies.

“This arrest clearly shows that your police is committed to account the remaining wanted persons in the region. Despite the case is not under the Iloilo City Police Office, we exerted effort to locate and arrest the subject,” he added./PN
