ILOILO – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recognized 42 local government units (LGUs) from this province for passing the 2024 Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH).
According to the list released by DILG-Iloilo, the lone exception is the Municipality of Janiuay, which did not meet the criteria for this year’s assessment.
DILG-Iloilo emphasized the importance of fiscal transparency and accountability in local governance.
The SGFH is awarded to LGUs that demonstrate fiscal discipline, transparency, and accountability.
The 2024 assessment was based on two main criteria:
1. The most recent audit opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA) must be either qualified or unqualified, with the annual audit report posted on the COA website as of September 27, 2024.
2. Compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy for the second to fourth quarters of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024.
DILG-Iloilo urged the LGUs to continue their commitment to good financial management and transparency.
