Bacolod allocates P3.675M for repair, replacement of traffic lights

BACOLOD City – The city government here has allocated a P3.675-million budget for the repair and replacement of defective traffic lights.

According to Engr. Loben Ceballos , officer-in-charge (OIC) of the City Engineering Office (CEO), a total of 21 intersections in the city have “problematic” traffic lights.

“Eleven of these traffic lights have no yellow light signal and need to be repaired,” he said.

At present, the repair and replacement of defective traffic lights are ongoing.

“The repair works could take three to five months,” Ceballos said.

Following this, thee Bacolod Traffic and Transportation Management Development (BTTMD) has permanently deployed several of its traffic enforcers on 11 intersection areas where traffic lights are non-operational to manage the traffic flow.

These intersections include the Lacson-Magsaysay, Burgos-Circumferential, Burgos-Lopez Jaena, Burgos-Hilado, B.S. Aquino-La Salle, B.S. Aquino-Lacson, Burgos-Lacson, Rizal-Lacson, Hernaez-Lacson, Hernaez –Araneta, and Lizares-Araneta, according to BTTMD OIC Patrick Lacson.

The BTTMD has a total of 301 traffic enforcers assigned all over the city./PN
