ILOILO – A 46-year-old farmer was stabbed dead in Barangay Tulatula-an, Dingle town around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8.
The victim identified as Arly Espino sustained a severe stab wound on his stomach. He was brought to Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
According to the Dingle police, the victim was on his way home riding a motorcycle driven by his uncle when they chanced upon the suspect identified as alias “Chard”, 45.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim allegedly confronted the suspect for no apparent reason. An altercation later ensued between the two intoxicated men that resulted to stabbing despite the victim’s uncle trying to pacify them.
The suspect was arrested after the incident. He was detained at the Dingle Municipal Police Station for proper disposition./PN
