ILOILO City – With sustainability, wellness, and mobility at its core, Iloilo City is set to hold the 11th Iloilo Bike Festival from May 30 to June 15, featuring a robust calendar of events and new components that further solidify its reputation as one of the most bike-friendly cities in the Philippines.

Themed “Pedal Forward: Shaping Iloilo’s Cycling Future”, this year’s festival was officially announced by the Iloilo City Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Center in a press conference on April 30.

Organizers said the festival will highlight the city’s award-winning cycling initiatives and commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Festival Director Architect Wilfredo Sy Jr. revealed that the 2025 edition will incorporate multi-sport activities such as a duathlon and push bike race, alongside traditional cycling competitions and community engagement activities.

Among the key events are:

* Opening Program and Bike Expo – May 31 to June 15

* Push Bike Race, BMX Street Competition, Bike Clinic, and Battle of the Bands – May 31 to June 1

* Grand Fun Ride – June 1

* Cycling Cities Conference – June 2

* World Bicycle Day: I-Bike to Work – June 3

* Mega Criterium Race and Duathlon – June 7-8

* Ambitious Bike Race – June 8

* Tour de Iloilo – June 15

* Food Truck Festival – Multiple dates from May 30 to June 15

The festival will also see the evolution of the previous “Active Mobility Forum” into the “Cycling Cities Conference”, which will include discussions on transport history, bicycle-powered energy innovations, local cycling ordinances, and Iloilo’s partnerships with international agencies.

Vice Chairperson of the Iloilo Bike Council, Uldarico Garbanzos, assured that safety and order will be maintained throughout the event, with coordinated security measures, traffic rerouting, designated parking, and crowd control in place.

Organizers said all schedules and venues remain tentative and subject to adjustment.

The annual bike festival not only celebrates cycling culture but also aligns with Iloilo City’s 2028 infrastructure roadmap, promoting active mobility, environmental stewardship, and inclusive urban development./PN
