
ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has not received reports on regrouping of private armed groups (PAGs) as the May 12 national and local elections near.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, said their intelligence officers have not monitored PAGs that would disrupt the elections.
“As of now we have not monitored regrouping of PAGs, but our intelligence personnel continue to monitoring potential PAGs,” he said.
On their part, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Colonel Bayani Razalan said that his intelligence personnel and police chiefs are currently monitoring the movements of several individuals who have criminal records that would possible be used as PAGs.
“Our monitoring will continue and I already instructed my men to coordinate with the populace and intensify barangay intelligence network to gather the movements of criminal gangs,” Razalan said./PN
