
ANTIQUE – A 44-year-old man was arrested in a raid that resulted in the confiscation of firearms and ammunition in Barangay Lisub-B, Anini-y town.
The raid on the house of the suspect identified as alias “Erning” around 5:13 a.m. on May 9 was executed through the strength of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The raiding team composed of members of the Anini-y Municipal Police Station, 1st Antique Provincial Mobile Force, and Intelligence Unit of the Antique Police Provincial Office seized two homemade firearms and live rounds of ammunition.
The suspect was detained at the Anini-y police detention cell.
Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, Police Regional Office 6 director, commended the units involved in the successful operation.
“We extend our sincerest appreciation on the support provided by the community that resulted in the seizure of these firearms, ammunition and arrest of the subject person,” Wanky added./PN
