EX-WRESTLING boss Linda McMahon, now United States President Donald Trump’s education chief, has written to Harvard concerning funding cut threats as a result of them not stopping pro-Palestinian demos. The letter was also posted on X.
Some kind soul, not Harvard itself, has taken the effort to correct her mistakes using a red pen, or maybe two given how many mistakes there were. There is not enough space in a short letter to detail them here but they are online.
Anyone can make mistakes or auto correct can change the context completely, maybe changing Trump to Tramp, but an official document should be checked or at least run through an online grammar checker, there are free versions.
As the person in charge of education, there is an assumed ability to use the language of the land well or at least correctly.
Is this just another example of a Trump appointment without the skills to do the job?
I ran this through a free online grammar checker and it added a comma and wanted to convert another comma to a full stop.

Welcome to the new job
America, and the world, has a new Pope but not the one Donald Trump hoped for – himself. Although he was an unexpected choice, he appears to be a very good choice.
From what is being reported, Pope Leo XIV will follow in the footsteps of Pope Francis. The church needs to be all encompassing as its members are more diverse than they used to be.
My own catholic childhood, in the 1960s, of old Irish priests with accents so broad I had trouble following what they were saying, are so long gone. Now we have priests from any country although in my parish, not from America yet.
There are also old tweets from the new Pope commenting on Trump and Vice President Vance which will make their first meeting interesting. Maybe there will need to be some divine intervention there.
Welcome to the job, good luck and be aware of the truth of the people you meet as not all great people are good people.

A flight of fancy
As President Trump may soon find out, “There is no more expensive thing than a free gift.” (Michel de Montaigne).
The proposed gift, or a loan, of a luxury plane from Qatar, is a very concerning offer. Presuming all honesty, the use of a $400-million plane, and the cost of modifications needed for it to be made ready as a Presidential plane, is very generous.
It is hoped that it is independent of the recently announced $5.5-billion development including an 18-hole golf course, not so subtly named the “Trump International Golf Club”.
We shouldn’t worry too much as President Trump has said that he is “perhaps the most honest human being”.
I hope that isn’t fake news or alternative facts./PN
