MANILA – Three Enderun College Lady Titans’ women’s volleyball team standouts are entering the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Rookie Draft, scheduled for June 8. .
Negrense outside hitters Erika Jin Deloria and Shane Carmona, along with middle blocker Zenneth Perolino, successfully submitted their applications for the PVL Draft by the deadline on Friday.
Deloria, who was awarded the 2024 NAASCU MVP and recognized as the MPVA Best Outside Spiker, expressed that participating in the draft is a significant step towards realizing her aspiration of competing in the first-ever professional women’s volleyball league in the Philippines.
“Every volleyball player dreams of playing in a professional league. The effort put into high school and college is aimed at achieving that dream,” stated the 5-foot-6 1/2 volleybelle.
“I also wish to have the opportunity to compete alongside or against those I have only watched on television,” added Deloria, who is a huge fan of Alyssa Valdez and the Creamline Cool Smashers.
Carmona shares a similar ambition to continue her volleyball career in the professional arena after teaming up with Deloria to lead Bacolod Tay Tung High School and the Lady Titans to multiple championship victories.
“Our experiences in various tournaments, such as Palarong Pambansa and NAASCU, have equipped us to contribute to the teams that select us,” remarked the 5-foot-3 Carmona, the 2022 NAASCU MVP.
Perolino, a towering middle blocker at 5-foot-11 for Endrerun, echoed the sentiment, affirming their commitment to any PVL team that chooses to draft them.
“We entered the PVL Rookie Draft to pursue our dreams,” Perolino said. “If we are selected, we will undoubtedly give our utmost effort in practices and games for the teams that choose us.”
Following the application submissions, the rookie candidates will participate in a draft combine from May 30 to 31, with the final list of draftees to be announced on June 4, just four days prior to the draft./PN
