BACOLOD City – Seven individuals, including a graduating college student, were injured after a public utility jeepney (PUJ) overshot the road in Purok Señora, Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Sherwin Fernandez of the Murcia Municipal Police Station (MPS) said a family from Calatrava town rented a Handumanan-Libertad PUJ to attend a graduation ceremony at the Central Philippine Adventist College yesterday morning, June 8.
According to the initial investigation of the Murcia MPS, the driver lost control of the vehicle after its front right tire was suddenly detached while they were traversing the road in Purok Señora.
The PUJ, Fernandez said, then plunged into a roadside canal.
The victims sustained minor injuries and were treated as outpatients at the nearest hospital./PN
