ILOILO City – To uphold healthcare quality and transparency, the city government has formally released the names of 82 diagnostic clinical laboratories that passed a comprehensive inspection and are now officially accredited and fully compliant with all regulatory requirements.
The list, made public through Executive Order No. 035-B Series of 2025 signed by Mayor Jerry Treñas on June 23, is the result of intensified efforts by the City Health Office and the Clinical Laboratory Inspection Task Force to ensure diagnostic facilities adhere to national safety and accuracy standards.
“This order serves to inform the public and ensure that only facilities that meet the standards of safety and accuracy are allowed to operate in the city,” said Mayor Treñas. “It is our duty to guarantee that health services provided to our people are both legitimate and reliable.”
The inspections were conducted from March 28 to April 4, following the earlier issuance of Executive Order No. 28 that created the inspection task force. A preliminary list of compliant laboratories was released on April 14. EO 035-B updates that list to include additional facilities that submitted complete documentation by June 23.
The 82 accredited laboratories are spread across all seven city districts, with the highest concentration in the City Proper (23 laboratories), followed by Mandurriao and Jaro. Three newly accredited laboratories were also included in the updated list.
Meanwhile, laboratories that did not make it to the official list were found to have incomplete or missing permits and are being urged to coordinate with the City Health Office for verification and compliance.
This transparency measure, according to health officials, is aimed not only at improving public access to safe diagnostic services but also at weeding out non-compliant facilities operating without proper oversight.
The Executive Order took effect immediately upon signing. A full list of the accredited laboratories is available through the City Health Office and is expected to be posted on official government platforms./PN
