ILOILO City – Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the newly appointed director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), has made it clear that his leadership will be marked by swift discipline against erring officers and a renewed commitment to faster, more responsive public service.
“We must deliver good public service to the community, and to do that, we must hold accountable those who tarnish the badge and break the people’s trust,” Ligan said. “There is no room for erring officers here.”
Ligan stressed that police discipline is essential for restoring and maintaining public confidence. He said police officers who fail to perform their duties or are found guilty of misconduct will face firm consequences.
In line with the directive of Philippine National Police chief General Nicolas Torre III, Ligan also pledged to enforce a five-minute response time to incidents across Panay Island, ensuring that “swift and responsive public service” becomes the standard.
“Our aim is to respond in under five minutes, no matter where or when,” he added.
Calling on his personnel to take pride in their service, Ligan emphasized that passion and dedication must guide every officer’s work. “The strength of the police personnel comes from the heart,” he said. “Kung isapuso mo ang trabaho mo, maganda ang kalalabasan kasi mahal mo ang trabaho mo.”/PN
