JULIA Montes addressed girls apparently surrounding her boyfriend Coco Martin, quipping she is capable of turning into a kontrabida (antagonist) should they cross the line.
The actress spoke about this during a YouTube vlog with content creators Euleen Castro, popularly known as Yobab, and Kevin Montillano last Sunday, July 6.
Martin was brought up in the conversation after Castro and Montillano joked about wanting to audition to be part of the cast of the actor’s ABS-CBN TV series “Batang Quiapo.”
“Kaya hindi ako makuha ni Direk Coco, sabi niya ang hirap ko itago sa poste,” Castro joked.
She then asked Montes, “Ano pong feeling na love of your life si Tanggol?”, referring to Martin’s role in the series.
Montes was not immediately able to answer, admitting she was caught off guard by the question.
After her pause, she said, “Sa mga girls, alam niyo na…,” then burst into laughter.
Expounding on her answer, she continued, “Ipapaalala ko lang na nag-Clara ako, nag-Sara ako. Ano pa bang mga kontrabida ang nagawa ko? Lahat ‘yon pwedeng maging ako in one day.”
“Subukan niyo pong magkamali. Lahat po ng inaaral natin sa buhay ay i-aapply natin,” she added.
Castro then responded to Montes with her trademark humor, “‘Di naman namin aagawin. Gusto lang namin mag-Tanggol-Tanggol,” eliciting more laughs from the actress and Montillano.
During the interview, Montes also opened up about how she expresses her love to Martin, saying it is the most expensive gift she gave to him.
When asked if she thinks she is “Tanggol’s forever,” Montes responded, laughing, “I think [he has no] choice.”
Montes and Martin confirmed their relationship to the public in 2023 after years of speculation. At the time, Martin said they had been together for 12 years. (Anne Pasajol Philippine Daily Inquirer)
