ILOILO – The Provincial Board has unanimously approved the reappointment of Provincial Administrator Raul Banias and Provincial Legal Officer Dennis Ventilacion, securing the continuity of Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.’s core management team.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) gave its concurrence during its second regular session on Tuesday afternoon, July 8. Only Ventilacion attended the session in person, as Banias was attending an important meeting.
Ventilacion has served as the provincial government’s legal officer for 18 years, starting under then-Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. and continuing through the present administration of Gov. Defensor Jr.
Banias, on the other hand, has held the role of provincial administrator for nine years — first under Defensor Sr., and then reappointed by Defensor Jr. in 2023.
In a statement, Banias thanked the SP, presided by Vice Gov. Nathalie Ann Debuque, for the swift approval of his reappointment despite his absence.
“A heartfelt thank you to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Iloilo for concurring my reappointment as Gov. Toto Defensor’s Provincial Administrator despite being not present in your session. I am incredibly honored and humbled by your continued trust and confidence,” Banias said.
He added that every year of service is a privilege and the SP’s concurrence further strengthens his resolve to serve the province.
“I am more committed than ever to contribute to Governor Toto’s Social Justice Agenda and the MoRProGRes development goals for our beloved province. Together, we will continue to work towards a more progressive and equitable Iloilo,” he added./PN
