Foxies edges Flying Titans for 1st PVL on Tour win

MANILA – Farm Fresh Foxies claimed their first win in the PVL on Tour after pulling off a 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 26-24 comeback victory over Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Saturday at The Capital Arena in Ilagan, Isabela.

Trisha Tubu led the charge with a stellar 22-point performance built on 16 attacks, three blocks, and three service aces, earning Player of the Game honors for the Foxies, who improved to a 1-1 record.

According to Tubu, the win was a major step forward for the young Farm Fresh squad, which continues to grow in confidence under its new system and is beginning to hold its own against the league’s more seasoned teams.

“Sobrang halaga nitong panalo na ito dahil bagong system kami at na-apply namin kaya sobrang happy namin,” said the former Adamson Lady Falcons standout in the post-game interview.

She added: “Unti-unti na kaming nabubuo, sobrang solid na namin sa sistema ni (Foxies head) coach (Alessandro) Lodi at nagtiwala lang kami,” she added.

Jolina dela Cruz also delivered on offense with 16 points, 14 of which came off attacks, while Caitlyn Viray chipped in 10 points to help Farm Fresh seal the win.

With the fourth set tied at 24-all, the Foxies showed composure and grit, as Rizza Cruz and Tubu scored back-to-back points to close out the match in dramatic fashion.

Maria Lina Molde led Choco Mucho with 13 points, while Desiree Cheng added 10 as the Flying Titans dropped to a 1-2 slate.

Meanwhile, PLDT High Speed Hitters (2-0) pulled off a surprise 25-22, 25-15, 25-16 straight set win over Petro Gazz Angels (1-2), . Mary Joy Baron and Jovielyn Prado led PLDT with 12 points each./PN
