ILOILO City – A 27-year-old high-value suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala Zone 1, City Proper district, leading to the confiscation of around P1,530,000 worth of suspected shabu, on July 18.
Joint operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU 6), Iloilo City Police Office’s Police Station 7 and City Drug Enforcement Unit, and Iloilo Provincial Drug Enforcement Group caught alias “Ernesto,” a resident of Barangay Rizal Estanzuela, at around 6:35 p.m. after handing over suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.
His accomplice, alias “Janet”, 27, managed to evade arrest.
Authorities recovered a total of 10 plastic sachets and four plastic bags containing the said illegal substance weighing around 225 grams, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.
Ernesto is now under police custody and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
