ILOILO City – In a major blow to the illegal drug trade, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) netted an estimated P1.83 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested 10 suspects in a series of anti-illegal drug operations conducted over a 24-hour period.
From 6 a.m. of July 29 to 6 a.m. of July 30, ICPO carried out seven coordinated buy-bust operations, leading to the arrest of three high-value targets and seven street-level suspects.
Police recovered a total of 60 plastic sachets containing approximately 269 grams of suspected shabu, with a standard drug price of P1,829,200.00.
The biggest operation occurred around 10:42 p.m. on July 29 in Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo district, where the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested one high-value suspect, alias “Cy,” and three street-level suspects, identified by their aliases “Val,” “Dolf,” and “Jom.” Confiscated from the suspects were approximately 110 grams of suspected shabu valued at P748,000, along with buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia, and other non-drug-related items.
Another significant operation took place at 1:55 a.m. on July 30 in Barangay Democracia, Jaro district, where the CDEU nabbed another high-value target, alias “Rick.” Police seized around 55 grams of suspected shabu worth P374,000, along with marked money and additional items linked to illegal drug activity.
