BACOLOD City – More than 40 business establishments in the city face closure for operating without the required permits, the City Legal Office (CLO) confirmed.
The CLO’s City Enforcement Team began implementing closure orders after the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) recommended sanctions against 43 establishments for violating Section 65, Article 20 of City Ordinance No. 565, Series of 2011, or the Revised Revenue Code of Bacolod City.
On August 29, six establishments — including a department store, pastry shop, salon, dressed chicken plant, and a boarding house in barangays 31, 17, 15, and 13 — were padlocked following the issuance of closure orders.
BPLO head Stela Rose Rayos said the affected firms had already been served with notices of violation prior to the closures.
“Upon issuance of the second notice, firms must voluntarily suspend operations and comply with requirements within 15 days, pending the issuance of the Mayor’s Permit,” she explained.
Rayos also warned that businesses resuming operations without permits will face additional sanctions. The CLO and BPLO will continue enforcing the closure orders in the coming days./PN
